Amritsar Law College (ALC), Amritsar, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab), Bathinda, for 5 years to promote academic excellence, research and professional development in the field of legal studies. The collaboration aims to provide academic support and mentorship to ALC while creating new avenues for students, faculty members and researchers to engage in academic and research activities.
At the outset, Prof. Puneet Pathak, Head, Department of Law, Central University of Punjab, briefed the gathering on the objectives of the MoU and highlighted that the collaboration would enable both institutions to undertake joint research activities and explore opportunities for sponsored and consultancy projects, workshops, conferences, training programmes, short-term courses and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs).
The MoU was signed on September 10, 2026, in the august presence of Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Vice-Chancellor (Acting), Central University of Punjab, by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Registrar, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, and Dr. Avon Kumar Vaid, Principal, Amritsar Law College.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Amit Sharma, Chairman, Amritsar Group of Colleges, said that the MoU marks an important step towards strengthening the academic ecosystem of the institution. He applauded the efforts of Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, Amritsar Group of Colleges, for taking the lead in initiating and facilitating this outstanding MoU, stating that the collaboration would not have been possible without his vision and efforts. He also appreciated Dr. Avon Kumar Vaid, Principal, Amritsar Law College, Amritsar, for taking such innovative steps towards strengthening academic and research collaborations.
Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, and Mrs. Ragini Sharma, Director Finance, Amritsar Group of Colleges, stated that the collaboration would contribute significantly to the academic and professional growth of the institution and open up new avenues for meaningful academic and research engagement.
Dr. Avon Kumar Vaid, Principal, Amritsar Law College was accompanied by Mr. Karambir Singh, Deputy Registrar, Amritsar Group of Colleges. Dr Vaid expressed his happiness over the signing of the MoU and described the collaboration with CU Punjab as a significant milestone for the institution. He stated that this achievement was possible only with the blessings and guidance of Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, Amritsar Group of Colleges, whose support and vision played a crucial role in taking the initiative forward.
