Amritsar Law College, Amritsar, successfully organised its *1st Nationwide Virtual Moot Court Competition 2026, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from **32 teams representing different states of India. The competition was adjudged by nearly **30 advocates from the Supreme Court of India, the Punjab and Haryana High Court and various District Bar Associations*, making the event a prestigious national-level academic platform.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by *Dr. Avon Kumar Vaid, Worthy Principal, Amritsar Law College, who highlighted the significance of moot court competitions in shaping students into skilled legal professionals. He also congratulated **Ms. Ankita Joshi* and *Ms. Harmanjot Kaur, Assistant Professors at Amritsar Law College*, for successfully organising the event and appreciated their dedication and efforts.
The distinguished *panel of experts and judges* included *Adv. Sandeep Gorsi, Special Public Prosecutor for the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) for the States of Punjab and Haryana, *Dr. Kamaljeet Singh, Asst Prof. at Galgotias University, *Prof. (Dr.) Shobha Gulati, Professor at Chitkara Law School, Chitkara University, *Dr. Narendra Bahadur Singh, Professor and Director, Institute of Legal Studies, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Lucknow, *Prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Kumar, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, Greater Noida and *Prof. (Dr.) Ishita Chatterjee, Dean , School of Law, Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat.
The esteemed panelists encouraged the participating mooters and appreciated the organisers for successfully conducting a nationwide virtual moot court competition.
The *Winners* of the competition were *K. Papathi, M. Sushmita Karen and S. Vigasini* from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, who were felicitated with E Certificates and a *cash prize of ₹3100*. The *Runners-up* were *Pooja, Sharumathi D.R., and Aisha Fazana M.* from Joy University, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, who were honoured with E Certificates and a *cash prize of ₹2100*.
The titles of *Best Mooters* were awarded to *Jio Harveer Singh Virk* from Chitkara Law School and *Sneha Sen* from Indian Institute of Legal Studies, West Bengal. Both were felicitated with E Certificates and a *cash prize of ₹1100 each*.
On this proud occasion, *Honourable Adv.
