Amritsar Law College, Amritsar, organized an award ceremony on successfully completing the 30-day Environment Challenge under the National Edu-Trust of India on the occasion of ‘World Environment Health Day’ celebrated on September 26, 2024.
The event began in the august in the presence of Mr. Amit Sharma, Chairman, Amritsar Group of Colleges, Amritsar. Mr. Amardeep Singh Bains, Chief Judicial Magistrate Cum Secretary District Legal Services Authority, was the Chief Guest, while Mr. Samarth Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, National Edu Trust of India, was the Guest of Honor. To enhance academic quality, research progress, and cultural, national, and global exposure, Amritsar Law College and the National Education Trust of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The students participated in this challenge where they performed various eco-friendly activities like tree planting, power saving, and waste management by following three R's - reduce, recycle, and reuse. They presented a wonderful skit based on environmental and health issues, which won the hearts of everyone. Additionally, they raised public awareness of the value of public transit and environmental protection.
Mr. Amardeep Singh Bains shared the ill effects of drugs and environmental pollution on their lives and encouraged the students to participate in the campaign “EK PEDH MAA KE NAAM." Mr. Samarth Sharma praised the students for their commitment and diligence to this challenge. Dr. Avon Kumar Vaid, Principal, ALC, appreciated the coordinator Ms. Arshpreet Kaur Sodhi (Assistant Professor, ALC) for organizing this event gracefully. Also, he congratulated the students for completing this challenge and wished them all success for their future. Their inspiring words encouraged students to continue their commitment to environmental stewardship.
Overall, the 30-day challenge had a great impact on the student’s wellbeing; they successfully completed each challenge with great interest. The event was a true celebration of environmental consciousness and a reminder that even small actions can lead to significant positive changes for the planet.
